Olivia Joret studied Visual Arts and Contemporary Critical Theory at Goldmiths College, London, UK and Painting at Sint-Lucas Hogeschool, Brussels, BE. She obtained a Master of Arts at the European Graduate School, Saas-Fee, CH and Valetta, MA.

Her work draws on a tension between an aesthetics of erasure (gommage), aiming to blur the cultural denominations which shape everyday contexts and relationships, and on the other hand a good-humored need for (self)relativization. When the former gives rise to conceptual works taking the form of performances, the latter allows for an indulgence in the plasticity of painting.

Joret lives and works in Brussels, Belgium.
